Several organizations have collaborated with the Council to support parenting education. They offer various resources and/or workshops throughout the county. Our community partners are:
The Guidance Center
Parents Place provides a safe, clean, convenient and affordable place for kids (up to 5 years old) and their parents/caregivers to play, learn and socialize. Professional staff who specialize in parenting and development issues specific to young children are also available to address questions and concerns.
Westchester Jewish Community Services
A variety of programs working with parents to develop communication, discipline and coping skills to strengthen family systems and/or improve their children's academic and personal prospects for the future. Some programs are geared directly to parenting skills; others engage parents to support the work being done with youngsters or adolescents at risk.
Family Ties of Westchester
A wide range of support groups, advocacy services, parent coaching, and connection to community resources, as well as respite and youth development opportunities. We recognize you, the caregiver, as a full partner in planning for your family's success based on your family's unique strengths and culture. All Family Ties services are free, confidential and community-based. We have a "never give up" philosophy and will be here to support you for as long as you need us.

The Westchester Independent Living Center (WILC)
The Parent Training and Information Center (PTIC)
is a Program of WILC. It informs parents of children with special needs about their rights in the education system. It provides training, advocacy, technical assistance, and information and referral services in Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester counties.
Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) Lower Hudson Early Childhood Direction Center (Birth to age 5)
The Early Childhood Direction Center (ECDC) is a free, confidential, and neutral information, referral, technical assistance, and training center. Parents of children from birth to age five with known or suspected special needs, as well as professionals who provide any kind of services to children, may access our services. The ECDC at WIHD serves Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam counties, and is part of a statewide network of fourteen ECDCs funded by the Office of Special Education of the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) Parent to Parent
Parent to Parent of NYS is a place where families of individuals with special needs and the professionals who serve them can meet and share information. The Hudson Valley Region Office of Parent to Parent of NYS is a parent-staffed program that assists families of individuals with special needs within the Westchester, Rockland, Orange, and Sullivan County areas. Parents/caregivers have the opportunity to connect one-to-one with a parent/caregiver of an individual with the same or similar disability or special health care need through our parent matching service. Our office provides free and confidential information, resources, referrals, and training to families and professionals. Training sessions are available for on topics including: Support Parents, Understanding Medicaid Service Coordination, Use of a Health Care Notebook, and more.
