The Council’s mission is to champion the healthy development of children, families and communities by promoting quality early care and education. One way we practice our mission is by providing support, resources, and workshops for parents. The Council will address the availability of parenting education on recognizing and choosing high-quality child care; addressing children’s behavioral issues; social and emotional development of children; age-appropriate activities; developing children’s language and literacy skills; ensuring children’s health and safety; promoting positive parent and provider relationships; federal, state and local policies; availability, quality, economic impact, and cost of child care
