Thank you for your interest in the Child Care Council of Westchester, Inc.
We would be happy to explore your thoughts about a volunteer relationship with you at your convenience. We have lots of different needs and we’re often open in the evening and Saturdays. We are happy to put you in touch with a child care center or after school program in the community if that would be a better match for you. We are also happy to work with students in need of community service hours and/or internships.

Volunteer Opportunities at the Council
Join our Board of Directors or new Advisory Board. If you have a strong interest in making a difference for children and would consider an on-going relationship with the Council, explore a key role in the governance and/or direction of the agency.
Promote Early Literacy. Participate in our Annual Book Drive in the spring where we collect books for babies through teens, organize them and distribute them to programs in need of resources.
Increase Parents’ Understanding of Safe, Quality Child Care. If you have marketing, public relations or communications skills, help us get the word out to more employers, organizations and parents about all the Council’s free services that support working families – child care resources, information, selection tools and financial assistance.
Mentor a Child Care Business. Many working in child care and after school programs do so out of a commitment to children, without extensive business knowledge. If you are interested in a one-to-one relationship over a multi-month period of time, you could provide needed help with budgeting, promotion, and more.
Deliver Training to the Council and/or the Child Care Sector. Our field is changing rapidly and needs on-going training. You could deliver training in social media, excel, business writing, marketing, customer service, human resources and more to the Council and/or our field, depending on your availability.
Lend a Hand with Public Events. Support the Council’s community events, either through the whole planning phase or just the day of the event. Events range from professional conferences to legislative breakfasts to an annual awards breakfast.
Become a Council Ambassador. Learn about the importance of high quality child care to our current and future workforce and help us carry the message to other community organizations.
Build Our Technology Capacity. Help us help more children, parents and child care programs through better/smarter use of our web site, Constant Contact emails, Facebook, etc.
Make Us Beautiful. If you are interested in one-day or short-term cleaning, organizing, or painting projects, the Council and other child care programs could use your energy.
