A site visit is required for all OCFS regulated child care programs before you can open for business. This mandated visit ensures that your site has proper exits, is free of health and/or safety hazards and is suitable for child care. If your site is not appropriate, the process ends here. We strongly urge that you wait for this visit before beginning extensive renovations or making large purchases. After you attend a mandatory start-up information session and submit an application, you will receive a call from either the OCFS regional office or the Child Care Council to arrange a visit.
